BoC 1935 $500 notes

The 1935 $500 is black with brown tint. It shows Sir John A. Macdonald on the face and a Fertility allegory on the back.

This is the rarest of all Bank of Canada bills. No "Almost Uncirculated" (AU) or "Uncirculated" (UNC) bills are known to exist outside the Bank of Canada Museum. Currently there are only 46 bills unaccounted for. Even a note in pretty beat up condition (G) would sell for upwards of C$6,000. At Extra Fine (EF) you could expect almost $30,000 CDN.

If you find one, don't tell me! I can't afford it.
